ESL Tutor Guide for new teachers who want to learn to teach conversational English.

My name is Kimberly Fujioka. I live in Hawaii. I was an English(ESL) instructor for 25 years. Now I have a book out, Get Them Talking! The Complete Guide to ESL Tutoring, where I teach you how to teach English conversation skills to non speakers of English. (And you don't need a university degree.) Once you learn how to teach conversation skills in English, you can go anywhere in the world and teach. That's what I did.

I moved to Japan in 1995 and taught English for the 6 years I lived there. It was great! It was the best time of my life! I met so many wonderful people from all over the world; and I earned a living while I was there. I traveled all over Japan--from the Japanese Alps in Nagano Prefecture to the southern island of Kyushu. I ended up marrying one of my former students.

Let me tell you why I wrote this ebook.

I wrote this book for people who want to succeed at teaching international people English conversation skills in a tutoring situation.

In a tutoring situation you can earn your own money and you have control over what you teach. Since each lesson is only for one person, you can tailor it to them; and they will learn well. It is very rewarding when a student learns to speak English because of you. In my career as an English Instructor I have taught hundreds of students from all over the world to speak English. I have taught in classrooms and tutored students individually. I have also taught in small groups of four to six students. I have a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics (TESL), Teaching English as a Second Language. I taught English at the university level from 1982 until recently when I left teaching to focus on my writing. I taught at University of California at Berkeley, UC Davis, the University of Pittsburgh and several national universities in Japan, Saitama University and Gunma University. I have also tutored privately for as many years as I taught at the university level.

Everything I share with you in this ebook I have done. I am sharing it with you, so you can do it too.
